Volvo and Subaru have done it for years and now Mercedes-Benz is throwing its hat in the ring with the E-Class All-Terrain. How can automakers make wagons more attractive. Well since SUVs are now more popular, why not make the conventional wagon look a bit more rugged with a slightly higher ride height.
The concept looks similar to the F 015 Luxury in Motion concept that debuted earlier this year, but its van-like styling and lounge interior are designed to appeal to a younger generation. Now we wait to see how soon the German company can pull it off. Even if the Generation EQ concept is a bit pie in the sky—gimmicky concept-car bits like an enormous widescreen display on the dashboard and odd ambient lighting details certainly reinforce that impression—we will admit that Mercedes-Benz’s plan for the new EQ sub-brand of vehicles sounds ambitious.
